Child Safety |

As many parents know the world we live in today is not the same as the world we grew up in. There are many people whom nobody would suspect that would harm a child in our communities and around the world. Therefore it is essential for us to educate our children as to what possible harms could befall them. While this is a depressing thing for many parents to do. It is a lot better than the alternatives.
In the front of every cub scouts book is a section on how to help keep them safe. It includes but is not limited to:
Going anywhere without checking with a trusted adult and not to accept anything from anyone.
Staying with friends in order to remain safe.
Understanding that no-one, even mommy or daddy, has the right to touch them in an uncomfortable way.
And if someone has done something to hurt them then they should tell a trusted adult.
The handbook goes into it with a lot more detail and should be read by every parent and discussed with the child.
Reminder: Everything has to be approved by the council.
